Outreach Services
The purpose of the Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) Telecommunications Access Program (TAP) of KY Outreach Services is to educate the public and professionals about the availability of the program and what services it offers.
- Training for consumers (provided by Kentucky's Relay Service provider) to those who have received equipment from the TAP.
- Distribution of brochures to agencies that offer similar services as the KCDHH
- Collaboration with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) formerly known as Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHH), Alexander Graham Bell Association of the Deaf, Kentucky Association of the Deaf (KYAD), and other organizations on emerging technology issues
- Participation in presentations, workshops, or exhibitions in order to educate consumers and service providers about the TAP.
- Distribution of information about emerging technology and the use of technology to ensure accessible communications.
