Educational Interpreter – Daviess County Public Schools (Owensboro, KY) is seeking a full-time Educational Interpreter for its middle school program for deaf/hard-of-hearing students. This position will begin in the 2011-2012 school year. Please go to www.dcps.org and select the employment tab. Scroll down to see the advertisement for the educational interpreter position.

DCPS has a unique regional elementary program that provides education to DHH students in Owensboro and surrounding counties. Students not only learn academics but develop into bilingual individuals with both American Sign Language and English(spoken and/or written). These students have positive self identities as Deaf individuals, with strong Deaf pride and Deaf cultural values. The middle school students are products of this environment.
